What is Cystine?
Cystine should not be confused with cysteine, from which it is derived. Cystine is an oxidized dimer form of the amino acid, cysteine, that is common in many foods such as eggs, meat, dairy products, and whole grains.
Cystine is believed to play a role in protein synthesis, supports the heart, cardiovascular health, and lungs. It may also aid memory, focus, and contribute to a calm sense of well-being. In addition, Cystine may help contribute to healthy hair.
