What is Guar Gum?
Guar Gum (also sometimes called Guaran) is a common water soluble food additive that is extracted from guar beans (the seeds of the guar plant). It is commonly used as a thickening agent in yogurts, ice cream, supplements, lotions, and creams. Guar Gum has eight times the thickening potency as cornstarch and is high in fiber.
Guar Gum is rich in fiber and helps aid digestion. Due to its high fiber content, it may have laxative properties. Guar Gum also helps contribute to heart health.
