What is Goldenseal?
Goldenseal, also known as Orangeroot or Yellow Puccoon, is a perennial herb (Hydrastis canadensis) in the buttercup family that is native to Southeastern China and the Eastern United States. It can be distinguished by its thick, yellow-knotted root stock. It bears small flowers in the late spring and grows a single poisonous berry similar in appearance to a large raspberry.
Goldenseal contains alkaloids and helps support the liver, immune system, and bladder function. It may also help maintain healthy glucose levels in already healthy individuals when taken in conjunction with a healthy diet & exercise. Goldenseal may contribute to a sense of overall well-being.
