What is Casein Protein?

Milk contains two types of protein – casein & whey. Whey is a fast digesting type of protein that absorbs extremely quickly and is great for taking immediately after exercise. Casein is a slow-digesting protein that releases amino acids slowly instead of quickly like whey. Casein is often taken before periods of rest and sleep.

As a dietary supplement, take 15 grams (2 ¬Ω tbsp) to 30 grams (5 tbsp) per day. Individual needs may vary.

Serving Size & Timing

The generally recommended serving size of Casein Protein is 30 grams daily. However, the dosage can vary depending on the person's build and body weight, rate of metabolism and size.

This supplement is highly soluble and low in fat. It is a dense powder described as having a pleasant, somewhat bland flavor.

CASEIN PROTEIN SIDE EFFECTS

Casein Protein has no reported serious side effects when used correctly. Taking this supplement beyond its recommended dose, however, can cause headaches, nausea, stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhea, fatigue, and reduced appetite. These symptoms might also be caused by a Casein allergy. If issues persist even after the dosage is lowered, discontinue use and consult a trusted physician.
