What is Casein Protein?

Milk contains two types of protein – casein & whey. Whey is a fast digesting type of protein that absorbs extremely quickly and is great for taking immediately after exercise. Casein is a slow-digesting protein that releases amino acids slowly instead of quickly like whey. Casein is often taken before periods of rest and sleep.

Casein protein contains BCAAs and assist in the recovery of the muscles after strenuous physical activity. Supplementation of micellar protein also helps the general development of lean muscle mass at a faster rate. In addition to its high protein content, one serving of Casein contains almost half of the daily recommended value of Calcium, which can promote healthy bones as well.
