What is L-Theanine?

L-Theanine is an amino acid that is found in a variety of plant and mushroom species, and is particularly abundant in green tea. L-Theanine is commonly referred to as simply Theanine, not to be confused with D-Theanine. L-Theanine possesses a unique savory, umami flavor profile and is often used to reduce the bitterness in some foods.


L-Theanine may have calming effects for mood and sleep and may support brain function and aid alertness, focus, cognition, and memory. L-Theanine may also fortify immune function and support the heart and cardiovascular system.

I have used this product for about two years now and I have no complaints. I’ve tried other sellers products but they either are lower doses or not the high quality I get from Bulk Supplements. Even when they run out of the Veggie Capsule I can still count on the Gel ones to carry the same quality.

a must product to take the gritty edge off stims etc

I like using theanine because I can drink coffee cup after cup, and use with preworkouts and PEA. I don’t feel drowsy or ‘chill’ per sa. It doesn’t act as an antagonist instead it works in tandem allowing the effects of any uplifting/stimulating/arousing drink/powder without taking away any energy or concentrating factor. This is great because I can take caffeine or a workout drink and still get activated and charged, but get get that uggness that’s edgy, teeth grinding or the kind. A dose of 100mg is sufficient but sometimes I might do 200-300 if the cns product is highly charged.
