Glucomannan (Konjac Root) Powder
Powerful and most amazing supplement from Asia, Japan, and China! My kilo of Konjac Root arrived 6-12-2018. I read that Konjac Root can be used as a thickener and absorbs 50 x its weight in water.

I thought, "I wonder if I could use this as a thickener along with collagen and make it into a "fake" applesauce." I chose to initially work with fish collagen. A kilo of fish collagen also arrived on 6-12-2018 from Bulk Supplements. I also have bovine, chicken, and pork will arrive soon. Why fish? Its elements have 1 1/2 the power-punch of any of the various collagen products. That's why I chose fish to see if I could make an applesauce out of it.

I'm thrilled that Bulk Supplement now carries fish, bovine, chicken, and pork collagen, and have been having a ball learning about these incredibly powerful products which work so well in our systems. I've also been investigating Ayurvedic products, and was equally as thrilled to find Konjac Root (Glucomannan) powder.

I immediately found that by adding a stash of supplements to Konjac Root or collagen, will lessen the absorption amount, so be prepared to adjust any stash you use or the need to adjust the amount of Konjac root you use in whatever you whip up. I've also been adding supplements to the protein drinks I have each day, and with a protein drink, the supplements do not change the composition. Just collagen and perhaps Konjac. So adjust as needed.

Also, any of the juice powders available through Bulk Supplements will work very well: I have most of them, and they are fabulous, except for Coconut powder (I'm not a fan of it right now, but I haven't completed my investigation of it).

I just happened to have 1 gallon of the Cherry Pomegranate from Crystal Light already in my refrigerator. I know Bilberry will be awesome.

Recipe for Fake Applesauce:

Juice I chose was 1 1/3 cups of Crystal Lite Cherry Pomegranate
1 tsp Konjac Root
2 tsp Fish Collagen
Blend well (and be quick about it because it sets up very rapidly! -- about 10 - 20 seconds). I use my Vita-Mix, turned about 1/2 way to high because I didn't want to get this luscious mixture on the lid for the Vita-Mix (my machine of choice) or have it slop onto the counter if I forgot to put the lid on the Vita-Mix machine.

Get your spoon out, dig in and enjoy.

Me? My first taste of this combination simply caused my tongue to salivate with glee!

This product instantly became one of my staples. It is brown in color, a good source of fiber, curbs appetite, and promotes weight loss. It may improve blood pressure and cholesterol level. This root inhibits absorption of cholesterol and glucose in the gastrointestinal system.

I'm thrilled it is an Ayurvedic. My research indicates it does have a strong laxative effect, so don't get carried away eating a lot of fake applesauce, no matter how good it is and how skimpy on calories are, otherwise you may run for the bathroom in the middle of the night. I know. I did.

Konjac Root is used to make tofu and Konjac Jelly, as well as shirataki noodles.

Here's a link to some recipes.
