St. John's Wort is a dark brown powder that is soluble in water and ethanol. It contains 3-7% Hyperforin, 7-12% Flavonoids and 3-5% Xanthones.

Supplementation of St. John’s Wort may cause light sensitivity, particularly to those who are fair-skinned. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight. Some studies show that St. John’s Wort, when taken with other types of antidepressants, could cause confusion, headache, dizziness and nausea.

It might also manifest an adverse reaction when taken with certain drugs intended for HIV infection, birth control, anti-coagulation and more. Since this product might have a number of drug interactions, it is best to first consult a physician regarding use.

St. John's Wort is also believed to contain Tannic Acid, which can adversely affect the body's absorption of Iron. In this case, patients are advised to take an Iron supplement to avoid deficiency. Those with a history of liver problems should not take this product.

This is a capsuled product.

Customer Reviews

Very Good
This seems to be stronger than other brands I've tried. I felt the effects immediately. It's very similar to an SSRI anti-depressant. I did notice one of the side effects for me is elevated blood pressure. Just make sure you're healthy and are not on any interacting medications before using this as it is a weak MAOI. Over-all great product!*

St. John's Wort Extract
I have been using St. John's Wort for several years and thought I would try the Bulk Supplements variety. The product contained 600 mg per serving and is of great quality and value.*

This is a very good quality St. John's wort. I haven't taken it long enough to judge the full effect yet. *

Extremely Potent
This is by far the most potent St. John's Wort I have ever ingested and I have tried several brands in the past; do not doubt the validity of the provided COA. I will continue to purchase this supplement and others from this company.*

Meets my expectations
I received St John Wart capsules for the first time and once again appreciate the value and quality from Bulk Supplements. I am very familiar with other health products from other retailers and do not know why anyone would not make Bulk Supplements their first choice.*
