Inulin FOS (fructooligosaccharide) is an energy source naturally produced in plants that is high in fiber and low in calories. Fiber can prolong the body's sense of fullness and slow digestion, allowing the absorption of nutrients. In addition to promoting digestive and immune health, inulin can also help manage blood sugar and stimulate calcium absorption.

Serving Size & Timing

As a dietary supplement, take 2600 mg (1 tsp) one to three times daily with food or beverage, or as directed by a physician. To avoid stomach upset, begin with smaller doses.

Customer Reviews

I cannot describe how delighted I am to have discovered inulin powder, and the price at BulkSupplements is excellent (which is why I purchased it here). It tastes exactly like sugar, which makes it really, really delicious to eat a spoonful of. It also seems to work perfectly in baked goods as a sugar substitute -- and there's no sugar in it, OR anything artificial, just pure fiber. It's like, seriously, are there any downsides to doing this?!

The only downside I can find is that you shouldn't eat too much fiber at once if you're not used to it, because too much fiber isn't great for your body. (Too little fiber, by the way, is worse.) But . . . seriously, too much sugar is far worse for you, and this seems to be the perfect sugar substitute because it's actually healthy.

I notice the same effects from eating inulin as I do from eating psyllium husk: eating too much will cause loose bowels and intestinal discomfort. Eating the right amount causes stools to be soft without being loose and prevents constipation. Drinking too little water with it will cause dehydration and accompanying headaches. Drinking enough water with it easily prevents that.

Additionally, fiber stabilizes blood sugar, which means that when I take inulin, I get filled up quickly, and I don't have an appetite for longer, which is great. By contrast, eating sugar gives me an instant sugar rush and then a sugar crash, and then I want to snack on everything in sight. Inulin tastes exactly the same as sugar, and has almost exactly the same texture, and yet it's better in every way.

I can't even tell you how delighted this makes me. Inulin for the win! Yay!*

The packaging seems fine and the product good. This is my second order. My first order was lost due to possible misdelivery by the post office. I went to the post office twice and they just told me it was delivered. I email you and just got a list of FAQ. So I guess I am out $20+ I live in a condo development and have a central mail spot. I am guessing that the box or key was placed in the wrong mailbox. I will not order that way again.

Inulin FOS has made more difference to my gut biome ( mainly bifidobacterium) than any pro or prebiotic. I take 15g /day. There’s some evidence it can actually help help gut junctions which can be helpful for those with gut driven inflammatory disorders . Compared to the cost of buying elsewhere it’s basically free*

Good way to improve gut health
It is a little grainy but mixes acceptably in a blender. It is a good way for me to add some pre-biotic fiber in with my shakes and allow the probiotics to work more effectively.*

Works for what I need
Needed a prebiotic with fiber and inulin FOS fills the bill. It has a little sweetness, but would need much more than the recommended dosage to be an adequate substitute for sugar. Stevia from Bulk Supplements works better for that requirement since both are zero cal. Great product for a great price. Thanks again BS.*

It's working!
Bought this for my horse actually! She's an, ahem, voluptuous draft mare with Insulin Resistance (like a Type II diabetic). This was recommended to me and sure enough! It's helping her with her weight and its distribution in her body! Great stuff! And she says, "It tastes good."*

Great product!
I just recently bought the 1 kg bag and have been taking a teaspoon with each of my meals (3x) daily. It did give me a bit of gas at first, but that is to be expected when you start with the full dose (it says on the package to start with smaller doses and work up to avoid this). Anyways, it is still a bit early for me to report on the full effects of the product, but so far, it has definitely made me feel more full between meals, which is one of the main reasons I decided to buy it in the first place.*
