Customer Reviews

Thank you Bulk Supplements!!
I received a 100g bag as a free sample for my review of another of the awesome Bulk Supplements products. I weighed my fist serving this morning, then I added it to my coffee and it tasted great! After about 30 minutes I could feel the effects as far as my mood. I'm already feeling more cheerful. I'm 55 and could use the weight management benefit as well. Looks like I'll be purchasing a much larger quantity. *

Hesperidin powder
Hesperidin is a citrus peel extract.

It long-ago demonstrated robust vascular benefits.

When hesperidin is orally ingested, it converts to bioactive hesperetin.

Oranges possess over 60 different flavonoids.

Immensely rich in hesperidin, oranges boosts eye health, fighting heart disease, preventing kidney stones, and enhancing immunity.

Unfortunately orange juice concentrates contain fructose.

That causes sharp after-meal glucose spikes that in the long term can increase the risk of a host of diseases.

This powder offers one of the best parts of oranges, but not the concentrated juice.

Kudos to BS for adding the powder.

Caution...it has a very strong flavor.

great for gums
Now in my early 60's, for years I had gum pain, slightly loose teeth and occasional bleeding gums. Taking citrus bioflavonoids containing hesperidin would help, so probably in 2011 I tried a 500 mg Swanson hesperidin capsule mornings and the gum pain was gone within 2 days as I recall, so naturally I was very amazed and pleased.
My gums continued to improve over 2 years, so I still take a hesperidin capsule daily but will switch to taking this BulkSupplements powder soon, both because of price and because the Swanson capsules contain microcrystalline cellulose (plant fiber), magnesium stearate and silica. *

Hesperidin Powder
I am really glad BS added Hesperidin.

Caution, the taste is quite strong.

Hesperidin intake had a significant improvement in a cholesterol carrier associated with increased risk of heart disease called ApoB

Hesperidin may contribute directly to abdominal fat reduction.

By interfering with tyrosinase activity, hesperidin is ultimately able to inhibit the development of age spots.

In isolated endothelial cells in culture, hesperidin stimulates expression and production of eNOS, the nitric oxide-producing enzyme that triggers arterial dilation to increase healthy blood flow.

Hesperidin also reduces elevated CRP and serum amyloid A.

Both of these inflammation-promoting factors impair eNOS function and contribute to decreased endothelial function.

In other animal research, hesperidin reduced inflow of calcium ions into arterial smooth muscle cells that can lead to arterial calcification, a major factor in the development of angina (chest pain) and acute coronary syndrome, precursors to an all-out heart attack.

Hesperidin provides a boost to cell AMPK activity.

Human data indicates beneficial effects of hesperidin correspond in many ways to AMPK-activating compounds like metformin.

The age-related decline in AMPK activity is thought to set off a cascade of pathological processes that include:

Decreased autophagy (removal of cellular debris)

Abnormal blood lipid profiles (cholesterol/triglycerides)

Increased C-reactive protein (chronic inflammation)

Increased abdominal fat storage (especially visceral fat)

Boosting AMPK activity using nutrients like hesperidin has been demonstrated to mitigate some of these deleterious mechanisms of aging while helping to reduce belly fat.
