What is Green Tea Extract?

Green Tea is made from the dried leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant by steaming and cooking the leaves then drying them. Other teas typically involve fermentation of the leaves before drying. Because Green Tea is not fermented, it has a high polyphenol content. It also contains EGCG (epigallocatechin) which is a compound that can be found in green teas, bananas, and pomegranates. Green Tea naturally contains caffeine. This extract contains at least 50% EGCG.

Green Tea Extract is rich in vitamins & minerals and is loaded with antioxidants. It has anti-inflammatory properties and could help benefit the joints. When taken in conjunction with a healthy diet & exercise, it may help with maintaining healthy weight. Green Tea supports the skin, heart, liver, and immune system, and may aid workout recovery. It may also boost energy, help support the brain, and promote healthy cognitive function.

Serving Size & Timing

Green Tea Extract 50% EGCG is recommended to be taken in servings of 500 mg to be consumed either once or twice a day. Intake should never amount to more than 1000 mg per day, and this supplement should never be used for more than 3 months at a time. This product should be stored in an area that is free from light, heat and moisture to prevent erosion and potency loss.

Green Tea P.E. 50% EGCG is taken directly from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis and contains at least 98% polyphenols, with 83% of these being catechins. Of those catechins, 50% have been identified as EGCG. As it is a tea extract, there is caffeine content, but this should never be more than 2% overall. There are no fillers of any kind present in this concentration.

As long as suggested serving sizes are adhered to, Green Tea Extract should be entirely safe to consume. For those that choose to take more than the recommended dose, the excess caffeine could result in insomnia or alertness. Taking EGCG in large amounts over a long period of time has the potential to damage the liver or cause damage to the kidneys.

Those who are pregnant or expecting to become pregnant should avoid taking excess EGCG. as this can cause defects in the child. Anyone that has a serious medical condition of any kind should speak with a doctor before taking this supplement.

Good as always

Bulk supplements always does a great job giving quality supplements for a fair price.

Green tea benefits without the caffene

In searching around the web I found reports that this was the most consistent quality and had the lowest amount of caffeine. And the thing I like most is no additives!

bulk suppliments great products

I have used any of bulk supplements and they all are amazing products

Must be mixed with shake

I'm only using 1 serving (1/4 TBSP = 642 mg) three times a day right now. I can't tell if it's having much effect because I'm also taking preworkout during the day and working out much harder than before. HIGHLY recommend mixing this with a strongly flavored drink. This tastes nasty on it's own (with water) and dries out your mouth--similar to cinnamon. I bought the powder form because the pill form did not list how many pills you get in a package.

Green Tea Pure Extract 50% EGCG

I was surprised to open the package and see that the green tea extract is not green, but a brown/orange color. I read on another site that green tea that is discolored like this is from China, not Japan, and that it has undergone oxidation and is an inferior type of green tea. I would prefer returning it and getting a refund, but the return policy here is so restrictive, it would not be worth it to me. I would like to hear what other customers have to say about the quality of this extract powder, please.
