What Is Stinging Nettle Root Extract (Urtica dioica)?

Stinging nettle root extract (Urtica dioica) is taken from an herbaceous perennial plant in the Urticaceae family originally native to Europe, temperate Asia, and the western regions of North America. The leaves and stems have hairs that act like needles, which inject histamine and other chemicals into the skin, producing stinging and contact dermatitis upon contact. Despite this, stinging nettle root extract (Urtica dioica) has been used for hundreds of years for its purported health benefits.

One of the best anti-inflammatory according to Dr Eric Berg

I paid 3 times as much elsewhere for the Nettle Extract. It does reduce inflammation. You have great quality at a great price. I order a lot from you, and I am grateful you are here.

This extract is of good quality, but unfortunately, it is standardized for beta-sitosterol, which is "likely" useful for BPH. Nothing impressive here, since B-sitosterol is easy to find. Nettle root contains several other impressive components, however, like 3,4-Divanillyltetrahydrofuran(also called divanil), which frees testosterone from SHBG, a truly unique property. So, a standardized extract for divanil or a ratio extract such as 20:1 would be much more useful than this disappointing extract.

Nettle root

My husband has been taking nettle root for quite a while. I buy it in bulk and encapsulate it. I am very happy with Bulk Supplement Nettle Extract. It is so much smoother and finer that the last brand I used.

Nettle extract reorder

This is the second time I've ordered this item. Quality was consistent with previous which I was happy with. Telephone help was good although I have trouble ordering from the website.
