As long as suggested serving sizes are adhered to, this supplement should be totally safe to take. However, all salicylates are generally known to have possible negative side effects including gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, stomach pains, or general gastrointestinal problems. Taking much more than the recommended daily dosage may result in skin rash, inflammation, vomiting, dizziness, nausea and tinnitus.

While not thoroughly researched, White Willow should not be given to children in order to alleviate any pain or fever brought on by conditions such as flu or chickenpox, as it is possible that it could lead to development or Reyes’ Syndrome (a syndrome which is normally brought on by use of aspirin on children). Those that have ulcers, gastrointestinal sores or other problems should avoid this drug as well. Anyone taking medication for blood-thinning purposes should not that White Willow Bark may magnify the effects. For any medication concern at all, it is always best to talk with a doctor before taking this supplement in order to avoid negative drug interactions.

Anyone that has developed sensitivity to aspirin should also avoid this extract. Talk with a doctor if you are unsure whether your own medical condition will have a negative reaction with White Willow before use. Women who are pregnant or nursing should avoid this product due to a lack of information on the matter.

Customer Reviews

Pain relief
I bought this product in hopes of taking less NSAIDS. I have chronic cervical pain due to arthritis and degenerative joint disease. I have taken the white willow bark capsules several times now instead of the 800mg Ibuprofen that I have a prescription for and the white willow bark has helped. My doctor keeps warning me about the side effects of NSAIDS so I try not to take unless absoulutely have to. I think the drug industry has got us believing we can take NSAIDS so casually since they are also available over the counter in smaller doses but the more I read about all the possible side effects the less i want to take them. I also have bought bulk supplements cur cumin which i plan to take as a natural anti-inflammatory*
