Psyllium Husk Powder
Psyllium Husk is a type of fiber derived from the seeds of the Plantago asiatica plant found in dryer climates throughout south and western Asia. The FDA has approved Psyllium Husk for digestive management. However, its primary use is as a laxative.
As with any supplement, consumption is never intended to treat or cure any specific disease or illness. The fiber works by absorbing water in the gut, ensuring that bowel movements pass easily. While supplementation for temporary issues is perfectly fine, many individuals frequently take Psyllium Husk in order to maintain their overall digestive health.
Serving Size & Timing
It is suggested that Psyllium Husk be taken at a dose of 5 grams (just short of 1 tbs) up to three times daily, or as directed by a physician. This powder should be consumed with at least 8 ounces of liquid to avoid risks of choking or intestinal blockage. It should be avoided if you have difficulty swallowing.

PSYLLIUM HUSK SIDE EFFECTS
As long as suggested serving sizes are adhered to, this supplement is considered safe. However, some minor gastrointestinal discomfort may occur, such as gas or cramping. If this happens, reduce dosage. Those with existing digestive issues (such as Crohn’s or IBS) should consult their doctor before using this supplement. Despite it being extremely rare, some individuals may suffer an allergic reaction to Psyllium Husk. If itching, swelling of the throat or rash appears, discontinue use immediately and seek medical help.
Because of its absorbency, Psyllium Husk may cause choking if an appropriate amount of water or liquid is not taken in tandem. Vomiting or difficulty swallowing and breathing should be addressed immediately by a health care professional. Always be sure to take at least 8 ounces of liquid with each dose.
This product is virtually tasteless and comes in a fine powder. To delay jelling, this product should be mixed with a cold liquid (such as water or fruit juice) and consumed immediately.
This is the same thing as metamucil but without the sweeteners, coloring, and flavor.
Fiber is incredibly important so having an easy form you can keep at your desk is great since most fiber-rich foods aren't conveniently shelf-stable.
This product dissolves as well as any other psyllium husk powder like metamucil - meaning that it doesn't completely dissolve but it is drinkable especially if you use a shaker bottle and plenty of water.
It tastes like husk. I've never actually chewed open a coconut, but I think it'd be like this: earthy and mildly bitter. It's not revolting, just not terribly pleasant. This is similar to how I feel about bulksupplements' whey - the taste is tolerable and I'll just try to cover it up anyway.
My major grief is with the cost. As of this writing (Sep 2016) larger quantities are unavailable and the pricing shown is literally 10x+ the cost of typical psyllium husk packaged with sweeteners, coloring, etc. Economies of scale is a self-fulfilling prophecy: If you want to sell this product, you're going to have to order enough to get a competitive price so we buy it. *

After a week of daily consumption, I am slimmer. I feel like it really absorbs and carries away all the toxins and impurities in your tummy. Highly recommended. It clumps in water but this is just a minor drawback. I love this products - I am slimmer and lighter!*

It's good and it's without any other chemicals you don't need. I do have a problem with the taste, so I added some sugar free orange powder to it and now Iit's real good. Great price as well.*

I am a Crohn's disease patient recovering from a flare. Typically such patients eat a very restricted diet, often composed of easy-to-digest light soups, broths and gelatin. I tried to add calories to this regimen by eating the sweetened gelatin product Jello. Watery diarreah ensued. Seeking a better digestion, I REDUCED the JELLO TO WATER RATIO and added a couple hundred mgs of a commercial psyllium product. The watery diarreah stopped. Now I have replaced the commercial psyllium product with Bulk Supplements Psyllium product. It dissolves much easier and there are no potentially harmful other ingredients. I anticipate similar satisfactory digestion of liquids lightly sweetened with Jello, an important calorie source for me on a super-restricted recuperation diet.*
