Pregnant women should not take this product without the consultation of a doctor, as supplementation may cause contractions. Passion Flower should not be taken within two weeks of any major surgery.
I use about 500mg-750mg at bedtime to help me fall and stay asleep. I like that there is no grogginess in the morning and it keeps me relaxed all night. The powder allows me to more easily adjust the dose, and putting it in tea means it is absorbed more quickly than in capsule form.*

I had got the passion flower for my Aunt that cannot get to sleep at night. I had her take 1 teaspoon along with Valarian root extract of 2000mg. She had already tried the Valarian by it self and it just wasn't enough. But when the Passion Flower was added. She drifted off to sleep within 25min and stayed asleep for 8hrs. She tried it by itself also but the affects were better with the valarian root. She than did the Passion Flower 1/2 teaspoon during the day for her high stress of dealing with and taking care of her husband. Who has several mental and physical disabilities. You never know what you will wake up to with him and thru out the day is just crazy. Which gives her anxiety. But the 1/2 teaspoon of PASSION FLOWER helped her thru her day. It also lowered her cortizol levels. So it is good stuff and works! *
