N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) Capsules
N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) is a type of amino acid that is sulfur based and is needed in order for the synthesis of Glutathione to take place. Since Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant, this makes the presence of N-Acetyl L-Cysteine all the more important.
NAC is a more bioavailable form of the original L-Cysteine, another kind of sulfur-based amino acid type. Unfortunately, NAC cannot be found in the diet and needs to be supplemented in order to gain the full benefits.
Serving Size & Timing
It is suggested that N-Acetyl L-Cysteine be taken in serving sizes of 1 capsule (600mg) up to three times daily. It is also recommended that, if possible, the supplement be taken with Vitamin B6, Vitamin E and Selenium in order to enhance the antioxidant properties of it. Vitamin C supplements, if taken in conjunction with NAC, can also assist the antioxidant abilities while increasing the amount of glutathione being produced by the body.

NAC SIDE EFFECTS
As long as suggested serving sizes are adhered to, this product is considered safe. However, if you are taking nitroglycerin or any medications that affect the heart, a medical professional should be consulted beforehand. It is also possible that NAC may block insulin, which means that diabetics are cautioned from taking this supplement.
If taking more than the recommended amount, side effects such as vomiting, nausea, headache and gastrointestinal pains may be experienced from use of this supplement. However, these side effects are quite rare. Taking a larger amount of one supplement may cause the absorption of other supplements to be less effective; it is important to supplement other minerals such as copper and zinc to make up for what is being lost.
This is a capsuled product.
