Manganese Gluconate Powder

- Promotes good thyroid health
- Assists in metabolizing of carbs & fat
Manganese Gluconate is a salt combining Gluconic Acid and Manganese, which keeps up production of energy in the body while stimulating development of the bones. It is meant primarily to function as a coenzyme to several different metabolic processes. More specifically, Manganese is deeply involved in the synthesis of proteins and in the metabolism of energy. It also forms connective tissue and strengthens bones while helping to maintain cholesterol levels.
Health Benefits Provided by Manganese Gluconate
Manganese is needed in order for collagen to be formed, which is useful in a number of ways, but particularly in its ability to reduce inflammation and joint damage. It is also part of the principal antioxidant enzyme used by mitochondria to protect cells from free radicals. Also, in the way of more traditional usefulness, Manganese facilitates more effective transportation and absorption of various minerals. It is also useful for those that are involved in high intensity workouts; athletes usually implement high-protein diets in their lifestyles, and taking too much protein can cause a reduction in the body's overall levels of Manganese.
It is also necessary in order to correctly metabolize fats and proteins. It may also help maintain immune system health. It keeps the blood sugar at a constant balanced level and is even necessary in energy production at a cellular level.
Manganese helps to synthesize enzymes present in fatty acids and cholesterol and it is responsible for signaling the enzymes which produce DNA and RNA respectively. Manganese is needed in order to take oxygen from water, stimulate certain sex hormones and deal with blood clotting. In addition, Manganese is needed for the body to absorb Vitamin B1 and Vitamin E. Not only that, but Manganese works well when combined with B vitamins, increasing their effectiveness as well as its own.
Serving Size & Timing
It is suggested that Manganese Gluconate be taken in servings of 100mg per day. Since the FDA recommends that only 2mg of elemental Manganese be taken per day, a serving of 100mg with only 11% of it being Manganese will come out to a total of 11mg of Manganese per day.
It is important to remember that at high enough levels, Manganese Gluconate is considered toxic. Therefore, it is best to use caution when taking this supplement. It should not be measured out with measuring spoons, but with an accurate milligram scale.

As long as suggested serving sizes are adhered to, Manganese Gluconate is considered safe. Anyone with a natural iron deficiency or with chronic liver conditions should avoid taking this product without talking to a doctor first. It should also not be taken by women who are pregnant or breast feeding.
Manganese Gluconate comes in the form of a powder with a slight pink hue. It is soluble in water but not alcohol. This type of supplement must always be taken on an empty stomach and should not be taken along with other minerals such as calcium, copper, zinc or iron, which all have the ability to decrease Manganese absorption overall. This product should be stored in an area free from light, heat and moisture in order to preserve its potency and effectiveness as a supplement.
I was always baffled that while supplements are hailed as being "good for you," the supplements that you find at your typical grocer or pharmacy are full of artificial this and artificial that. Many of the choices at your typical health-store are not that much more pure.
Then, along came BulkSupplements! Finally ... Supplements that Make Sense!
I add this supplement to either the mustard that I put on top of a hard-boiled egg or in my yogurt-fruit-spread combination -- with no change to the flavors!
Thank you, BulkSupplements, for doing the right thing!

Have only had it a few days and already we are seeing results. I love that it is pure and free of fillers. On the other hand, it was crucial that I had a milligram scale to measure the correct dosage because it is very concentrated. The powder was easy to work with, and the containing bag seems like it will stand the test of time.
