Magnolia Extract Powder
Magnolia extract, taken from the bark of the magnolia officinalis plant, is frequently supplemented to assist with digestion, cut down on stress-induced eating and potentially help with weight loss. It is standardized to contain 2% honokiol.
Honokiol is a biphenol compound possessing antioxidant properties that may assist with reducing inflammation and relieving feelings of anxiety.

MAGNOLIA SIDE EFFECTS
Do not mix this supplement with alcohol or over-the-counter sedatives, as this may cause drowsiness. Pregnant or nursing women are not recommended to take this extract without the explicit approval of a physician.
I've found magnolia bark to be a very useful supplement for relaxation and it MAY be a bit helpful with keeping the appetite down / helping a bit with weight loss. I started with a very high concentration product from another source, but found Bulk Supplements’ extract to be quite effective, too. Especially if purchased in the larger quantities, the Bulk Supplements extract works out to be the more economical.
I actually find good effect from a quarter-teaspoon, much less than the suggested daily amount. Of course, these things vary with the individual, but for me, this supplement works better in a few divided smaller doses than in one larger daily dose. For anxiety related purposes, reputable sources like Examine.com suggest that very small quantities may have substantial effect. The active ingredients appear to have a longer duration (half-life) that do some other options like Kava and Scullcap.
The material does have somewhat of a strong and “peppery” taste. I do not mind this, but I suspect that a full 00-sized capsule would contain a reasonable dose of this extract.
