Magnesium Glycinate Powder

Key Features

  • Pure powder
  • Promotes heart health
  • Non-GMO
  • Taste

  • Mixability

Magnesium Glycinate is one of the most easily absorbed types of Magnesium supplement available. It is one of the more easily digested as well, making it popular among those with stomach troubles.

Directions

Serving Size & Timing

Magnesium Glycinate should be taken in servings of between 1/4 and 1/2 tsp (about 2200mg) daily. It should be mixed into a large glass of water after a sizable meal. Since the FDA recommends that 400mg of Magnesium be taken per day, and this is made up of 18-20% elemental Magnesium, this means that a serving 1/2 tsp in size would be equal to about 380mg Magnesium total.

It has also been shown that the efficiency of Magnesium supplementation increases when taken in tandem with Calcium. For best results, it is recommended that Magnesium be consumed at a ratio of 1:2 with Calcium.

CONCENTRATION OF MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE

Magnesium Glycinate comes in the form of a white powder that has been ground into fine granules. It is made up of a total of 18% Magnesium and has no extra fillers of any kind present in it. This product is vegan.

Note: Due to the Glycinate content of this product, some have described it as having an ammonia-like odor. This is completely normal for supplements containing Glycine or Glycinate. Synthesis may produce negligible amounts of naturally occurring ammonia, which is well below the FDA-permitted 5 parts per million (ppm) and a standard characteristic of all glycinate supplements. Magnesium Glycinate is safe to consume and is carefully monitored to assure quality. There are no added chemicals of any kind in this product.

MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE SIDE EFFECTS

As long as suggested serving sizes are adhered, to this supplement is safe to consume. Taking too much, however, may result in diarrhea and side effects such as indigestion, loss of appetite, weakness of muscles, low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, respiratory issues and nausea.

Those who have experienced kidney problems in the past and those who are taking supplements or other products which already have high Magnesium content should speak with a medical professional before taking this supplement.

TIPS

Because Magnesium Glycinate is deemed to have a high level of bioavailability, it will be more effective than similar amounts of other Magnesium-based supplements. This product is water soluble and should be taken along with water and a meal. It should be stored in an area that is free from light, heat and moisture in order to preserve potency.

Everybody needs this
Magnesium is amazing, if you've never taken it. You honestly just have to try it. This is the best form out there for absorption, and the bulk powder is ideal. Taste is much better than some other forms. Not bad in water, but you could add to juice or (my fave) Apple Cider Vinegar in water, before bed. It will help you with so many things. *

Great stuff!
Mag Glycinate is awesome! I use it for better sleep. My girl uses it for reduced cramping in her feet and toes - regular use takes care of it. Plus the 300 or so other metabolic functions it supports for us both, so its a win-win situation. Bulk sups does an amazing job of packing and getting it too you quickly. We love that!
Other forms from other places are typically hard to swallow tablets - oh and take two of those [daily] please they say. Hard to do actually. This powder makes it easy to drop into many liquids, smoothies etc. and consume with a smile. Other powders like ionic forms are good but they usually come from carbonate versions of magnesium which taste nasty [thus the flavorings] and are thus tougher to take regularly. My girlfriend likes this Bulk sups product as much, if not more. than I do. *

Magnesium Glycinate - for constipation
Purchased to help with constipation. I definitely worked. The best way is to start out slow and increase as you can handle it. Too much to start caused me to have gas pains but subsided fairly quickly. No gas occurred after I lowered the dose. Works great. *

Product is fine. Bag could be better.
The "squeeze to seal" bags don't come pre-sealed. During shipping, the powder rolls around in the bag and ends up in and above the seal areas. When you scissor the bag open, you may find that some of the powder drops out from the area above the seal. Some of my powder fell out onto the table I was cutting the bag open on. You can try to shake the bag before cutting it open, to make more of the powder drop down from the "above the zipper" area. But, even if you shake, you won't be able to get all of the powder to drop down. Furthermore, some of the powder will also get stuck inside the zipper-seal, which seems to make sealing the bag more difficult the first time you try to zip it.

I imagine the product could be improved by changing the production process a bit. Currently they don't seal the "squeeze-zippers", but if they did, the product would be better. *

Magnesium Glycinate
muscle pain has gone down, no real change in my sleeping. the powder tastes too bad to mix with anything, instead i just swallow it and chase it with a lot of water.
the package is really hard to seal, the fine powder gets in the grooves, and when you squeeze the ziplocking shut it doesnt take and part of it is still open. it would be better if it was shipped ziplocked so no powder ever gets embedded in that part.*

After my first dose the soreness from my workout diminished and I slept wonderfully. I feel this is going to be so beneficial for my bone health as well! I love that this is a pure product with no fillers . I take 1/2 tsp twice a day. I will be reordering this product again*

Magnesium Glycinate
I absolutely love Bulk Supplements Magnesium Glycinate. I got my first order from this company last week. Could tell a difference the first day I took it. I had been taking a Magnesium Glycinate pill which was so huge and hard to swallow. Plus the other company's product had Magnesium Sterate in it. I love that this is a pure product with no fillers. I have osteopenia and I want the best quality of magnesium glycinate that my body will easily absorb. I definitely feel I have found that quality with Bulk Supplements. It is well packaged. Also the customer service is fantastic. Will be purchasing this product again! Thanks Bulk Supplements!*

Great Product!
Magnesium glycinate is better absorbed than other magnesium and for some has less GI side effects. It's not always easy to find, but the product here is of good quality and comes in very convenient sizes.

It's far more easy to do this than to get it from Swansons. *

Easy to take & works in minutes
I have tried many brands of magnesium glycinate, but this one works the best to get me to sleep quickly. No problem with the taste. I take a 1/2 tsp. in the morning and one before bed. It relaxes my tense muscles and seems to curb any anxiety I may have. Packaging is great too.*

Preferred form
Have been using the glycinate form of magnesium for some time due to better absorption rates. Prefer straight pure powder without any additional excipients. This is easy to use by adding to a drink or food and the sour taste is easily disguised. I've also used it successfully making my own capsules if you prefer that. Now I personally find it simpler just to add to my morning and evening smoothies. Bulk Supplements has a good price and as good of quality that I can find to buy in bulk.*

Good quality
This is the first time I have use PURE 100% magnesium glycerinate. It seems to be more effective than using the capsule form from other sources. Magnesium is responsible for hundreds of functions in the human body---so you should use one of quality in my opinion.
I have ordered about a dozen supplements from B.S.. and I am pleased with them all.
Good quality product(s), no fillers, good value.*

An excellent form of Magnesium
Have been taking magnesium chloride for a few years, but I really don't know if it has been that effective. Ordered the Magnesium glycinate and within 10 minutes I knew I had been missing something that I almost immediately received with this form. Took 1/4 teaspoon (900 mg) and I was as calm and relaxed as having just had a good massage. I highly recommend this form of magnesium.*

Pure, clean Magnesium
This is not my first purchase of BulkSupplements Magnesium, and it will not be my last. I love that it is pure, clean, nothing artificial added. That is hard to find. The bigger the bag the better the deal also! Pretty much tasteless, dissolves well, very light though, so do not just rip open the bag or you will have a powder explosion. Great product!*

The same supplement from another large supplier did not taste the same or have the same effect...even tho they told me it was the exact same....hmmmm.*

Great Quality
With all of the qualities that this product offers, it's a great add to any supplement stack.

Great when used to help take the edge off of the day in the evenings, and given the function of Magnesium, it really has become one of the staple products we take daily.

A little chalky in consistency, it may be better to take in capsule formula, but definitely can be taken with a small sip of water.

best form of magnesium tastes fine in water
I read that magnesium glycinate powder tastes awful, so I was reluctant to order this. The truth is that it's nearly tasteless - not sweet, but not bitter either. The only problem i have is that it settles on the bottom, and after about an hour, it's difficult to remove. So just drink it immediately. it's the best form of mangesium - no loose stools - just calm.*

Magnesium the bomb Glycinate
Believe what you will about which form of magnesium is best. I've tried ionic fizz (freshly made magnesium citrate), magnesium taurinate, and magnesium oil, as well as soaking in baths of magnesium sulfate and magnesium choride. I can't say enough for Magnesium Glycinate. It is one of the only forms I have tried which does not induce bowel tolerance as you increase its dosage to a reasonable level. I stir it into freshly made fruit and vegetable juice in the morning along with powdered pearl. See why pearl is a bioavailable form of calcium for humans here

Heal your nervous system
First of all, this is the best form of magnesium (except other than perhaps ionic Magnesium, in liquid soloution, at a much higher cost). You can take a lot more before reaching "bowel tolerance". But about magnesium in general, you simply have to try it. I'm serious. It has been pretty life changing for me and a number of other people I've given it too. It's about much more than "relaxing the muscles". I would guess most people are deficient. This stuff is amazing, and as usual, at this website you can get it at a fraction of the cost. Mixes well in water if you were wondering. I HIGHLY recommend everybody take this stuff. *

I switched from using Magnesium Oxide to Magnesium Glycinate and am very satisfied with the results as to the effect on my bowel. There may be other positive effects but the above mentioned one was very noticeable.
I have purchased other products from BulkSupplements and have been satisfied with the purity, price and flavor of the items I purchased.
I share my purchases with an other person so it makes sense to buy in bulk because of the much better price.
I plan to have a long term relationship with BulkSupplements. *

It works
I began taking magnesium glycinate because even though I have taken Magnesium Oxide for some time and have enjoyed the side effects of sleeping and elimination, I wasn't getting the full benefits of the Magnesium due to Oxide not being good absorption. Now that I've taken this Glycinate for a while, I can absolutely say it is working and obviously absorbing better. I have had blood pressure drop of about 30 points due to the mag. alone. I have stopped taking the oxide completely and I take 2000+ mg mag glycinate a.m. and p.m. totaling 4000+/day with equal amounts of Calcium. I do seem to need the a.m. dosage. I am still getting the benefits of sleeping well and good elimination. I also no longer have any leg cramps. Unfortunately, the down-side is the mixture of Magnesium Glycinate and Calcium Citrate tastes horrible. I do dread it. I put the powder in a glass with a small amount of water and drink it down very quickly. I could put it into capsules. I just haven't wanted to fool with it. *

Buying this from Bulk Supplements is very cost effective. I use to pay $57.00 for a container of 360 capsules, and had to take 5-6 capsules a day. I am glad that I found out that this company sold this product among many other products which I take. Pure products and nice price, plus no more capsules to swallow. I put my supplements in water and drink them quickly. Although sometimes i will enjoy them in a smoothie. *

Perfect
Magnesium glycinate is the best kind of magnesium out of the ones I have tried. Glycine is an important and beneficial amino acid which is good because, taking this, you will consume a lot of it.

It is important to use this powder form because dosage is important with magnesium: too much and you will get drowsy, too little and you will be tense. I usually add some of this to my water every day to ensure a steady magnesium stream.*

good for night cramps
I ordered this product several months ago because of severe leg cramps that woke me up every night and left me aching the whole day. During the day the slightest touch would send my calves into painful spasms. I have always taken calcium and magnesium supplements, but due to some health issues my circumstances changed. I tried increasing my usual supplements, and also taking extra potassium, but nothing helped the cramps. Extra magnesium only gave me diarrhea, which probably reduced my magnesium even more. In desperation, I started taking Flexiril, a prescription muscle relaxant, and alternating it with several other prescription drugs that my physician tried for me, like Ambien, just to get some sleep. I found this magnesium glycinate and read that it was supposed to be less liable to cause diarrhea. I was able to take the recommended dose of 1/4 tsp without gastric distress, and the cramps stopped in a couple of days. I was able to stop taking all the drugs. Now I take a maintenance dose of 1/8 tsp every morning. The taste is very strong but it is easy to swallow quickly with a mouthful of my morning tea. I love that there is nothing else in it; I always look for supplements that are pure and come from vegetarian sources. It's nice that it doesn't come in a gelatin capsule. And it's much less expensive than capsules or tablets. I'm very happy I found it!*
