Inulin (FOS) Powder
- Pure & clean powder
- Promotes regular digestive health
- Flour, fat & sugar substitute
Inulin FOS (fructooligosaccharide) is an energy source naturally produced in plants that is high in fiber and low in calories. Fiber can prolong the body's sense of fullness and slow digestion, allowing the body to absorb useful nutrients. In addition to stimulating the immune system and promoting digestive health, inulin can also help manage blood sugar and stimulate calcium absorption.
Also known as a fructooligosaccharide (acting as a prebiotic), inulin has about 10% the sweetness of sugar/sucrose. Inulin has also been used as a flour substitute in baked goods and a fat substitute in margarine. Natural inulin is frequently found in foods such as onions, garlic, bananas and wheat. This particular inulin supplement is derived from artichoke.
