Seems to be Working
I've recently starting taking the D-Glucosamine HCL along with MSM to help with body aches. It's only been a few days and seems to be making a difference already. This is a product I plan to keep on hand as these aches and pains reoccur from time to time, as I get older. I'm always pleased with Bulksupplement products. *

D-Glucosamine HCL
I decided to try the hcl over the sulfate form. As sulfate might cause blood sugar issues. The HCL works fantastic along side with MSM. Very pleased with the quality.*

great stuff
I am a 70 year old male who has suffered from low back pain for decades due to multiple deteriorating disks. I have avoided surgery by using chiropractic manipulation. however my back pain has steadily increased to the point where I have been taking hydrocodone up to four times a day. my chiropractor recommended taking an expensive supplement with Glucosamine. I decided to try Bulk Supplements powder instead and within a week my pain has reduced dramatically. I must admit I also began taking MSM and Chondroitin Sulfate in conjunction with the Glucosamine - all from Bulk Supplements. I couldn't be happier with the products.*

Glucosomine HCL
Bought it for my dad's aches and pains. He has been taking it for a while now and has not been complaining of any issues recently. Seems to be helping him throughout his day. Overall a good product with the idea of being great for your joints, research supports this, and was shipped in a timely manner.*

Excellent Product
I have used glucosamine for many years to counter the effects of four major knee surgeries. At age 62, I continue to lift heavy weights and contribute my ability to do so in part, to glucosamine/glutamine intake. After using other bulk distributors, I discovered Bulk Supplements by accident and found my first order to be the best quality, with the fastest service of any provider. "Proof is in the pudding", so after three months of usage, I have seen a noticeable uptick in joint recovery. I have changed nothing else in my routine and unless there is a bright star in the East that I am not aware of, I have to attribute this to your product. Keep up the good work. Yours in sport.*

Exactly What I Need
I'm 63, in decent shape, but within the last few years arthritis has been creeping up on me.

I had used a Glucosamine product that helped. When it ran out I got a less expensive one, which didn't; plus, it was hard to swallow.

So I decided --Quality-- must be the difference and what better solution to my swallowing problem than a powder?

Results: My symptoms of arthritis seem to have stopped rapidly advancing, as they most assuredly did before I began taking Glucosamine.

Keep my Joints in Shape for HIIT Sprinting
I run five 50-second sprints everyday over a rough dirt track timing myself with a stopwatch and so far my knees and ankles are in great shape. I bought this Glucosamine HCL to keep those knees and ankles healthy. Several years ago while jogging, my knees made a lot of noise - painlessly popping and banging around - not anymore, however. One finger of my left hand had pretty bad arthritis. Now it is OK. I do want to stay healthy. Also, my low back nowadays hurts a little all the time - even while laying in bed. If the glucosamine can help this I will be truly grateful.

The Examine website says, "Glucosamine sulfate salts are the best way to supplement glucosamine, with glucosamine sulfate as a close second. Glucosamine hydrochloride is ineffective. N-Acetylglucosamine is not glucosamine and should be considered a different supplement." Later on they say, "No significant benefits [are] seen on lower back pain; all benefits associated with glucosamine are related to the knee."

GreenMedInfo, quoted later in this review, says from within a double-blinded and placebo-controlled clinical trial that, "Glucosamine sulfate and glucosamine HCL are equally effective in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis."

So, I am a little worried. Next time I might buy the BulkSupplements D-Glucosamine Sulfate Potassium Powder, instead. The price is the same. Still, I expect the glucosamine HCL I have on hand to keep my knees in shape for the next six months or so.

The following is a list of clinical trials, most double-blinded and placebo-controlled, recorded at the National Medical Library, MEDLINE, as abstracted by GreenMedInfo for glucosamine:

1. Glucosamine sulfate and glucosamine HCL are equally effective in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.
2. Use of glucosamine reduces the risk of lung cancer risk.
3. A combination of glucosamine sulfate, sodium hyaluronate, chondroitin sulfate, quercetin and rutin improve symptoms of interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome.
4. A combination of glucosamine, chondroitin and quercetin significantly improve the symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
5. Glucosamine extracted from shrimp does not demonstrate allergenicity in those allergic to shrimp.
6. Glucosamine improves symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.
7. Glucosamine shows great therapeutic potential in the treatment of degenerative osteoarthritis.
8. Glucosamine sulfate significantly decreases the need for total knee replacement.
9. Glycosaminoglycans like glucosamine may contribute to improving conditions like ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and interstitial cystitis.
10. Glucosamine abrogates the acute phase of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
11. Glucosamine exerts a neuroprotective effect via suppression of inflammation in rat brain ischemia/reperfusion injury.
12. Glucosamine shows promise in treating inflammatory bowel diseases like colitis.
13. Glucosamine/chondroitin sulfate has therapeutic activity in dogs with osteoarthritis.
14. Chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine sulfate are potent inhibitors of HIV.
15. Elderberry, Chondroitin, Glucosamine Sulfate and Olive Leaf have been found to block HIV replication.
16. Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate may treat symptomatic spinal disc degeneration.
17. Glucosamine anticancer activity may be due to its ability to inhibit the transglutaminase 2 enzyme.
18. Review: Glucosamine is safe in healthy individuals and diabetics.
19. Glucosamine has anticancer activity on human hepatoma.*
