Beta Carotene 1% (CWS) Powder
Beta-Carotene contains Vitamin A and has a yellow-orange pigment that gives the distinctive color to certain fruits and vegetables such as pumpkins, carrots, sweet potatoes, oranges, tomatoes, bananas and squash. It is also the pigment that gives the bright orange color to cooked lobsters and the pink color to salmon and flamingos.
BENEFITS PROVIDED BY BETA CAROTENE 1%
This particular version of Beta Carotene 1% is cold water soluble, believed to improve stability against oxidation. INGREDIENTS & FURTHER INFORMATION
BETA-CAROTENE 1% SIDE EFFECTS
Beta-Carotene is essentially safe and greatly lowers the chances of acute toxicity that might occur if using a direct Vitamin A supplement. However, it is not without occasional side effects such as upset stomach, nausea and jaundice. These effects can be controlled by simply lowering the dosage.
Taking too much Beta-Carotene could actually raise the risks of developing other forms of cancer as well as heart disease. Frequent smokers or drinkers should consult with a health care professional before considering this supplement. Women who are pregnant or nursing and individuals expected to undergo heart surgery should avoid Beta-Carotene.
Carotene is one of about 600 different kinds of Carotenoids, which are pigmented and highly fat-soluble compound types that give the deep blue, yellow and red colors to other plants. The unique blend of Beta-Carotene available here is readily soluble in drinking water.
This stuff is so great I want to order it in large amounts. Why can we only order 100 grams, when most of your other products are available in bulk? If you're afraid people might eat too much and get cancer from it, I have two things I'd like to point out. First, that in my experience with it, something else you include in the powder (maybe the Vit. E ?) makes it very alkalinizing, and therefore it could never give anyone cancer. My other point is that pure beta carotene is acidifying, so yes, it does cause cancer in people whose bodies are too acid. However, some people (like me) are way too alkaline, so I'd like to use pure beta carotene powder to help acidify my system. Would you please consider selling pure beta carotene powder for people like me? You could put a warning on it that it causes cancer in people with acid systems. You really don't need any such warning on your beta carotene powder with the Vit. E, because your formula is so alkalinizing, and for the same reason, you don't need to restrict us to only buying tiny amounts of it. I'd like to buy more, because it's the only vegan source of Vit. E I know about -- most Vit. E supplements contain gelatin. *
