Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) Capsules
This essential vitamin is not naturally produced by the body and must be replenished every day in order for good health to be maintained. Vitamin C is known for its usefulness in conjunction with other enzymes and solutions.
HEALTH BENEFITS PROVIDED BY ASCORBIC ACID POWDER
For the many benefits of Vitamin C, consumers are encouraged to do their independent research.
Serving Size & Timing
It is generally suggested that a person take 1 capsule daily. The general guideline provided by the FDA cautions against taking more than 60mg per day, but this in itself seems to be an exaggerated low. It is possible that this may not be enough to see the true healing powers of Vitamin C. According to one survey, between 5 and 17% of adults have some kind of Vitamin C deficiency.

INGREDIENTS & FURTHER INFORMATION
CONCENTRATION OF ASCORBIC ACID (VITAMIN C)
This particular type of Vitamin C is derived from fermented sorbitol and contains no fillers. It is completely pure.
ASCORBIC ACID (VITAMIN C) SIDE EFFECTS
Vitamin C is non-toxic, and even in cases of extreme overdose, negative side effects will rarely if ever be experienced. When these side effects do occur, they are usually mild symptoms such as upset stomach or diarrhea. If you do experience these symptoms, lower intake to less than 2,000mg daily.
If Vitamin C is taken at too high of a level, it could cause a reduction in copper levels in the body while stimulating the absorption of iron. Therefore, anyone who has some kind of copper deficiency or any condition that causes iron deposits to form in their body should consult a doctor before Vitamin C is taken. In addition, pregnant women should not take more than 60 mg Vitamin C daily, as there is a chance that the child may develop scurvy in the womb. No more than 2,000mg Vitamin C should ever be consumed daily, but if this cannot be adhered to, it is especially important not to take more than 6,000mg.
The reason that Vitamin C is routinely used as an additive in so many different foods is because of its remarkably high levels of bioavailability. Because Vitamin C is derived from citrus fruits, it maintains quite a sour taste (even in powder form), so it is best to mix it with a fruit juice of some sort before consumption. Another alternative to the powdered form are the readily available Ascorbic Acid capsules. Of course, food cannot always be trusted alone as a reliable source of Vitamin C, since it can be so easily lost while cooking or other types of food preparatory techniques. This is why the supplement is a much more practical source.
This is a capsuled product.
I've explored and used other forms of ascorbate, but ended up coming back the old original, ascorbic acid. It is the only form that Linus Pauling himself recommended. Its acidity, poo-pooed by some, is actually very helpful in reducing nausea when taken with other supplements like zinc. *

We love the convenience of the Vit C capsules. We use them for travelling and when we are out and about. Quality is good and we have enjoyed all the products from Bulk Supplements so far. We split up our dose in 3 over the course of the day because Vit C is water soluble and is used by the body quickly. We typically have it with a meal, just before or after. We use the powdered Vit C for other times, like at home in a smoothie etc.*

The capsules are great if you need or want to take the entire amount. They do not open easily and break and crack instead. Sometimes I feel I only need about 500 mg at a time and prefer to take that amount several times a day instead of 1000 mg all at once. I wish the ascorbic acid came in a loose powder. They do carry the Vitamin C Ester if you can tolerate that, some people can't. Otherwise I will continue to use for myself, but not my children who need much smaller amounts.*
